Pavlovsk is just over 30km south of St. Petersburg, 5km further down the road from Pushkin/Tsarskoe Selo. Many visitors therefore find it convenient to combine both estates in one day, spending most of the day in Pushkin, and a few hours in Pavlovsk towards evening.

"The Stepson of the Tsarskoe Selo", the Palace and Park ensemble of Pavlovsk is situated 26 km away from St. Petersburg. Initially, there were rich hunting grounds, which were located near the Tsarskoye Selo summer residence of the Imperial court. Pavlovsk started with two small hunting houses, "Kriek" and "Krak".
